Kayla Seals is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career in 2020, working as a Registered Nurse in surgical and COVID intensive care, before moving into inpatient psychiatric and perioperative recovery care. Throughout her nursing career, she found that the relationships and rapport she built with patients were what she valued most — which drew her toward psychiatry, where those connections become the foundation of ongoing care rather than a single encounter. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at LSU Health New Orleans and her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, at the University of South Alabama. Since becoming board-certified in 2024, she has practiced in outpatient psychiatry, treating patients from young adulthood through geriatric age.

Kayla treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety and panic disorders, depression and treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, OCD, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders. Beyond diagnosis and medication management, she has a particular interest in patients whose mental health struggles are intertwined with lifestyle, hormonal imbalances, metabolic health, and other physical and situational stressors — recognizing that psychiatric wellbeing rarely exists in isolation from the rest of a person's life. She also has experience in interventional psychiatry for treatment-resistant depression, and integrates the latest evidence-based practices with holistic, whole-person support alongside medication management. Patients often describe her as easy to talk to — she brings genuine warmth and authenticity to every appointment, creating a space where people feel comfortable being honest about what they're truly experiencing.

In her free time, Kayla enjoys hiking, exercising, playing sports, and caring for her small flock of animals.
